What RSS Bandit was building toward before development slowed, and what we’re building toward now.
Where the original roadmap left off · 2003–2018
The WPF rewrite and Colossus
The last real roadmap for RSS Bandit centered on rewriting the application’s interface using Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) and moving to a ribbon-based UI. Alongside that redesign, the project — under the internal codename “Colossus” — was aiming for improved stability and bug fixes, building on an earlier preview of Facebook comments and deeper Facebook integration inside the reader itself.
Development slowed after that point, and the roadmap was never fully completed in its original form.
What’s next for the publication
Guides first, then reviews and comparisons
Right now, most of our effort is going into guides — practical, tested walkthroughs on using AI to manage feeds, podcasts, and the everyday flood of things worth following. Tool reviews and side-by-side comparisons come next, once there’s enough guide coverage behind them to be worth trusting, rather than publishing a review with nothing to back it up.
Beyond that, we’re intentionally not locking in specifics yet. We’d rather build what turns out to be useful than commit to a list now and pad it out later.

RSS Bandit was released as open source in 2010. The code is still on GitHub.
